How can I love you like the young girl I once was?

Years have passed...

Resentments have accumulated...

She would have done anything for you

Loved you more than herself...

She is long gone

Whats left?

I cared for you, your health, your wellbeing

But no longer the burning, passionate sense of youth

You said it wasn't enough

You sought "her" love, her infatuation, her selflessness

But she's gone

All that's left is an older self, with self-preservation in mind.
